Sound Healer Academy
12 Weeks to Become a More Knowledgeable Musician, Facilitator & Professional Sound Practitioner
This is not an instrument workshop stretched across twelve weeks. Sound Healer Academy is a small mentorship for people who want to understand sound deeply enough to create meaningful experiences, communicate musically, facilitate with confidence and begin building a professional path.
The Academy brings together what I have developed through 15 years of musical experience — listening, practicing, performing, composing, collaborating, improvising, facilitating sound experiences and building House of Sound.
You will learn instruments, but the larger goal is to develop the ear, musical vocabulary, judgment, presence, creativity and professional understanding that allow you to work beyond one type of event and collaborate confidently with other musicians.
What Makes This Academy Different?
A sound practitioner should understand what they are hearing, why sounds work together, when something needs silence, how tension is created and released, and how to communicate with other musicians.
The training combines four areas often taught separately: musicianship, instrument technique, facilitation and professional practice.
Musicianship
Notes, intervals, harmony, dissonance, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, register, phrasing, tension, release, improvisation and active listening. The goal is enough musical understanding to make intentional choices and speak a shared language with other musicians.
Instrument Technique
Develop control with singing bowls, weighted and unweighted tuning forks, and gong. We work on activation, mallet choice, tone, resonance, volume, sustain, sequencing, layering, dynamics, transitions and restraint.
Facilitation & Experience Design
Learn how to welcome people, open and close a session, set expectations, hold boundaries, read a room, use silence, pace an experience and design a complete 60–90 minute journey.
Professional Practice & Business
Learn offers, pricing, positioning, branding, social media, email, content systems, partnerships, venue outreach, private sessions, group events, collaboration and client communication.
Become a Musician, Not Only an Instrument Player
This Academy is designed to help you become a musician who works with sound healing. You will practice listening to other players, understanding musical relationships, leaving space, supporting rather than competing, following an emotional arc and improvising inside a shared environment.
Those skills can help you collaborate with handpan players, guitarists, vocalists, percussionists, electronic musicians and other facilitators. The instruments are tools. Your ear is the instrument we are really developing.
The Instruments You Will Study
Singing Bowls: striking and circling, mallets, resonance, overtones, volume control, bowl combinations, intervals and sequencing.
Tuning Forks: weighted and unweighted forks, activation, handling, frequency relationships, sequencing and integration.
Gong: mallet selection, playing zones, texture, swells, restraint, volume, tension and release, and using the gong musically rather than simply creating intensity.
The Art of the Sound Journey
A sound experience needs architecture. We repeatedly work with the House of Sound journey model:
Arrival → Curiosity → Expansion → Tension → Climax → Release → Stillness → Integration
You will learn how volume, rhythm, harmony, dissonance, register, texture, silence, instrument choice and pacing can move an experience through that arc — and when the best decision is to do less.
Your 12-Week Training Path
Week 1 — Foundations: resonance, frequency, overtones, dynamics, active listening and practitioner responsibility.
Week 2 — Music Theory: notes, intervals, scales, consonance, dissonance, rhythm, tempo and harmony.
Week 3 — Singing Bowls I: touch, striking, circling, mallets, tone, sustain and resonance.
Week 4 — Singing Bowls II: intervals, layering, pacing, transitions, silence and sequencing.
Week 5 — Tuning Forks: activation, weighted and unweighted forks, frequency relationships and partner work.
Week 6 — Gong: mallets, playing zones, swells, restraint, texture, volume, tension and release.
Week 7 — Becoming a Musician: ear training, improvisation, phrasing, variation, collaboration and musical recovery.
Week 8 — Holding Space: presence, voice, openings and closings, boundaries, consent and room awareness.
Week 9 — Journey Architecture: emotional arc, pacing, instrument order, transitions, climax, release and integration.
Week 10 — Events & Practice: room setup, soundcheck, timing, guest flow, venues, collaboration and troubleshooting.
Week 11 — Business & Market: pricing, offers, branding, social media, email, partnerships, venues and getting booked.
Week 12 — Integration: full-set rehearsal, feedback, musical refinement, facilitation coaching and graduation preparation.
Practice Is Part of the Training
Core classes take place Saturdays from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM for 12 weeks. Tuesday Practice Labs are offered from 7:00–8:30 PM.
Every student must attend at least 6 Practice Labs. You give sound, receive sound, observe other practitioners and learn how your choices feel from the other side. Additional labs may be attended whenever space is available.
You should also expect to practice between classes. This is a working cohort, not a passive course.
Graduation: Create the Experience Yourself
The Academy concludes with a collaborative student-led 60–90 minute sound journey. You help design the arc, rehearse it, facilitate the room, perform, transition between instruments and work with your cohort as an ensemble.
Graduation is about showing that you can listen, adapt, collaborate and help create a complete experience.
What You Should Be Able to Do by the End
The goal is for you to combine instruments with musical reasoning, improvise, communicate with musicians, guide participants, recover from mistakes, design a 60–90 minute journey, think through pricing and offers, communicate with venues and clients, and begin developing your own recognizable practice.
The Commitment
This Academy is best suited to someone who can protect the Saturday training block, attend at least six Tuesday Practice Labs, practice between sessions, receive feedback, experiment and return ready to improve. Because there are only three students, your presence matters.

Questions People Usually Ask
Do I need musical training? No. You need curiosity, willingness to practice and openness to learning musical concepts.
Do I need to own every instrument? No. Training is hands-on at House of Sound and centers on the instruments used in class.
Is this only for hosting sound baths? No. The musicianship training is broader so you can collaborate with other musicians and create different kinds of live experiences.
Will we cover business and marketing?Yes. Pricing, offers, positioning, branding, social media, email, partnerships, venue outreach and audience development are part of the curriculum.
Is this a medical or state professional license? No. This is an educational practitioner and musicianship training offered by House of Sound.
If You Are Ready to Go Deeper
You do not need to arrive as a musician. You do need to arrive willing to become one.
If you want to understand your instruments instead of simply owning them, create rather than imitate, become more confident holding a room, collaborate musically and understand how to build a professional path around your work, this Academy was created for that journey.
3 students. 12 weeks. $3,333.
